Most drivers are only aware of the regular car window tint and do not have much knowledge on the different kinds of tint films they can consider before purchasing the installation package.

So before you make a purchase of this popular car accessory, make sure you got your facts checked on the types of car window tint in the market that are listed as below:

Metallized Film

The metallized film is a popular variety of automotive car tint which has the basic function of blocking harmful rays and comes with an affordable price.

However, this type of tint film does not have a good heat rejection performance and will most probably corrode, causing a decline in visibility with a discoloration that would not look good on your vehicle.

Dyed Film

The dyed film is also another affordable car tint but unlike the metallized film, the dyed film does not cause signal interference but might cause bubbling in the long run.

Even though, the dyed film is less reflective and will not cause problem with visibility, it does not have a high heat rejection and cannot protect you from the harmful UV rays.

Hybrid Metallized-Dyed Film

The marriage of both the metallized and dyed tint film technology produces an automotive window tint that has a higher heat rejection performance as well as the ability to block out UV rays.

Of course, with the combination of two technologies, the price will be slightly higher. The downsides of this type of tint film is discoloration, corrosion, signal interference, and high reflectivity that will cause a drop in visibility.

Ceramic Film

The ceramic film’s performance in terms of heat rejection and protection from UV rays are way better than metallized and dyed films. With this type of car tint, there will be no signal interference, no discoloration, and no corrosion. However, ceramic film is much more costly than metallized and dyed films.

Multi-Layer Sputtered Film

For higher visibility and greater reflectivity, the multi-layer sputtered film is the automotive window tint to go to! The multi-layer feature filters out heat-contributing rays and does not interfere with any kind of signals. There will not be any discoloration and corrosion problems too. Of course, with these beneficial properties, the multi-layer optical film falls under the premium range in terms of the price.

So have you made up your mind on what kind of car window tint that you would want to install?
