There are a few instances where a PUSPAKOM inspection is compulsory for car owners.
If you are transferring your vehicle’s ownership or planning to change your car plate, the PUSPAKOM inspection is necessary.
Take note that if your road tax has expired for a year or more, you will need to go for this inspection too.

The PUSPAKOM inspection consists of many stages known as the inspection points.
One of these inspection points is the Tinted Glass Test where the transmittance of the visible light is measured for all windscreens and windows according to the regulatory requirements.
Even though your window tint might pass JPJ’s regulations but that does not mean it will pass through PUSPAKOM’s inspections.
You will only pass the inspection if your car window tint transmits less than 70% of light.

Many cars have a slight tint on their original windscreen which will affect the reading when paired with the car window tint that you have installed.
This will then lead to your failure of passing the PUSPAKOM inspection.
This is why many car owners had their car window tint peeled off during the check-up in order to pass the PUSPAKOM inspections.
The removal of the car window tint and reinstallation after the inspection will not be compensated by any party other than yourself as the owner.
It is advisable to peel off your car tint before you go for the PUSPAKOM inspection so that you will not fail the check-up.
If not, you will be required to go for a second time as removing the tint on the spot of your inspection does not guarantee a pass from the officers.
